Concert Wihtner FaGo & Chana Davila // afterwards Silent Disco with team Ko'eyene

The well-known Theaterformen concerts at Gartenhaus Haeckel are back! With the particularity that the stage is located in the heart of our Ko'eyene program: In the festival centre artistically designed by Gustavo Caboco. Whether relaxed from a hammock or directly in the first row - our concerts are for music lovers and anyone who likes unusual sounds. Musicians from the Indigenous communities of the Qom, Shipibo-Konibo, Sámi and Guarani Kaiowá come to us in Braunschweig for unique moments and will each conjure up unforgettable experiences in their own way. One focus is on Indigenous rappers of different generations who raise awareness for Indigenous languages and communities with powerful and creatively activist lyrics. Not to be missed!

Shipibo Konibo hip-hop artist Wihtner FaGo from the Peruvian Amazon region delivers a rousing rap performance. With powerful music and artistic activism, Wihtner FaGo will show us the richness of his Shipibo Konibo culture and highlight the challenges facing his community in the Ucayali region. He will shed light on Indigenous forms of knowledge and inspire us to stand up for social and ecological justice.

Janeth Roxana Davila Nunta aka Chana Davila belongs to the Shipibo-Konibo community and was born in San Luis. From an early age, she was taught the wisdom of her culture, the importance of protecting home, the value of family and the importance of fighting for rights. This experience led her to soak up knowledge and to be in spaces of resistance. She found a way to make her voice heard in the songs of Masha (Ikaros Shipibos), which are expressed in hip-hop. In this way, she conveys awareness of issues such as resistance, perseverance, love, protection, and the culture of life.

Following the concert by Withner FaGo & Chana Davila, we invite everyone to our Silent Disco. We will dance to the DJ set by the team Ko'eyene.
