Workshop | How to make a Paddle
Francisco Baniwa

Join us for this paddle-making workshop led by Francisco Luiz Fontes, also known as Francisco Baniwa, from the Waliperedakeenai clan of the Baniwa people. A master in various traditional arts, Francisco Baniwa will share his expertise in making the paddle – an essential tool in Baniwa cultural practices. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn about the craftsmanship involved in paddle making from a guardian of ancestral knowledge, who is also skilled in dances, songs, musical instruments, narration, healing, and crafts.
