Pussanga for Protection uses fabric prints and jenipapo dye to celebrate the protective rituals of the Makuxi and Wapichana peoples. This installation embodies the ancestral tradition of using the fragrant jenipapo fruit juice, which adheres to both skin and spirit, offering a shield against harm. Adorned with diverse Indigenous patterns, these gourds-bodies act as a safeguard against biopiracy, preserving ancient knowledge through the protective charms of Indigenous cultures.
