In Afluente (tributary), Indigenous performance artist Ziel Karapotó unveils layers of corporeal expression to liken human connections to river-bodies that overflow, carve new paths, and find their way back to the source. Karapotó's work sheds light on issues of territorialization and identity reaffirmation as experienced through the intersecting Indigenous contexts. In his art, characterized by an engagement with Indigenous poetics and the fight against racism, Karapotó uses his body as a canvas to paint the struggles and resilience of Indigenous peoples.
