International Theatre Workshop
Various artistic activities of the festival THEATERFORMEN take place under this heading.
The International Theatre Workshop is open to everybody and offers a safe space to think and experiment. It supplements the rehearsal process of Aeschylos� �The Persians� with lectures, a photo-art project, an exhibition and a performance-event in the city.
The central meeting place for exchanging knowledge and experiences within the International Theatre Workshop is a �bar�, the p-bar. From April onwards, artists and artists invite the public in for lectures and discussions. The name p-bar reflects the diversity of activities inside: p might stand for Persians, practice, production, poetry or politics. All these words are in a historical, aesthetic or social way connected with the THEATERFORMEN production of �The Persians�. Experts renowned for their work address a number of topics. On the one hand they offer insights into the creative process of the production itself; on the other hand they give a general view on the social context of theatre production.
The International Theatre Workshop is funded by the Nieders�chsische Lottostiftung and the Bundeszentrale f�r politische Bildung.
