Attempt to talk to a horse
Laetitia Dosch has the suspicion that something’s not quite right about our relationship to animals. We eat some of them, don’t eat others, we love them and still lock them up. She suspects that these contradictions also apply to other areas – how we treat nature in general, how we treat the weak and those other to us. To get to the bottom of the matter, she will create a play with a horse, just the two of them alone on the stage. The horse is naked; so why shouldn’t she be too? The horse talks to her and she talks to it, both of them want a relationship in which no one controls, manipulates or exploits the other. The horse has a few questions about this. Using personal confessions and political appeals, with songs and rap verses, Laetitia Dosch looks for answers. There has never been a play like HATE before, joyful and melancholy, silly and dead serious, completely crazy and 100% plausible. And therefore completely fitting for our times.
