Aleppo. A Portrait of Absence
Topography of a narrated city
What remains of a city we have left behind in our heads – memories of moments lived, of dreams, hopes? To keep them safe, Syrian author Mohammad Al Attar asked people who were forced to leave their home behind to tell him stories about their favourite places in Aleppo. Spoken by actors and shared with the audience in a one-to-one installation, both the stories and Aleppo itself preserve the beauty of places that perhaps no longer exist.
