ROUND-TABLE TALKS ON THE POSSIBILITY OF A DECOLONISED INSTITUTION
The contradictions of the postcolonial world will be made tangible during the festival: the white Western institution, the concept of bourgeois art and the idea of being able to represent “the world” in a festival can only be produced from the degradation of the ‘other’ in the first place. At the same time, ‘we’ discuss cultural participation, diversity and an opening-up of the institutions. Festival Theaterformen will address this complex topic in an open final discussion: On six tables with artists, curators, organisers and visitors, everyone will assess the 2018 Theaterformen festival together. The results will be documented.
