LAND, RESOURCES, BODIES
The virtual reality film Collisions shows how contemporary witness Nyarri Morgan experienced the effects of British atomic tests on populated land in Australia. The Chemical Valley Project tells the story of the two sisters Vanessa and Lindsay Gray’s resistance against the colonially driven oil industry in Sarnia, Canada. Based on the two productions, those involved discuss the colonial taking possession of bodies and land, the consequences of this for current legislation and policy, and the possibility to counter these through art by working together with those affected and activists.
