Looking back on a very successful festival

After eleven days, during which seventeen plays from twelve countries were shown in Braunschweig, the Theaterformen Festival came successfully to an end on the 17th of June. Overall, the reception of the fourth edition of the festival curated by Martine Dennewald was very positive: almost 90 percent of tickets were sold, around 10,000 people visited the festival. →

Programme 2018

Martine Dennewald explains what’s special about this year’s programme: “This year too, the Theaterformen Festival will not just tell stories from all over the world – it will also give an account of how these stories are connected, how biographies can be located between the continents, how historical interconnections and especially the colonial past have an influence on our present. The plays reflect and add to each other, so anyone who goes to see several plays will catch a glimpse of this mosaic, in which all the tiles comes together to form one big picture.”
