Walk, Hands, Eyes (Hannover)
A voyage of discovery with closed eyes
Walk, Hands, Eyes (Hannover) is a silent walking tour through Hannover, in which the guests completely surrender themselves into the hands of the performers. They receive only two instructions at the start: to keep their eyes closed and not to speak. Then the walking performance begins: the route leads the participants through lively squares and hidden locations, brings them across streets and bridges, into buildings and to memorials, where they briefly stop. Only very few times are they asked to open their eyes and pause. Through these temporary snapshots, the paths they have taken can be reconstructed and individual stopping points located. With Walk, Hands, Eyes (Hannover), Myriam Lefkowitz successfully creates a fascinating live experience that intelligently questions and challenges our highly sensitive capacity to perceive.
Walk, Hands, Eyes (a city) has developed into an artistic method that has already been shared in many different environments, such as museums, festivals and universities. The international collective of guides has been continuously growing since 2010.
