Two drummers are the backbone: Jaleh Negari and Anja Jacobsen play drums in Selvhenter and the unorthodox band set-up doesn’t stop there, the opposite, in fact it only starts there, with the trombone player Maria Bertel taking the role of bass, Maria Diekmann on the violin and saxophone player Sonja LaBianca. Activists from Copenhagen’s underground scene, these women infiltrate the depths and breadths of psychedelic music with their collective improvisations. And this with a level of musical skill usually only found in jazz and classical music. Let it all hang out, it’s almost the end of the festival!
