A collective meditation on a well-kept secret

Property changes consciousness. It divides friends, it grants power over others, it excludes. Property is never questioned. And no one talks about it. Nothing ist more fundamental for our society, the way we live together, nothing has such a divisive effect on community as property. Together with their audience and a chorus of Hannover residents, She She Pop will talk about property and take a look at their own situation regarding property, the distribution of goods and how these are disposed of. Inspired by Brecht’s theory of the Lehrstück (the didactic play), in each show they will develop new rules for a theatrical dialogue and create discordant spoken choruses, in which how we deal with property will be renegotiated each night. Oratorium will be presented in Hannover for the first time as a work-in-progress. From here, the show will go on tour across Europe, during which they will collect snapshots from other economic microcosms and continue to develop the performance from stage to stage to become a large, multi-vocal meditation.

In 2013, She She Pop and their fathers were already guests at Theaterformen Festival in Hannover with the multiple-award winning production Testament.
