Riggan Thomson lives off his former fame as the actor who played the superhero, Birdman. Now he wants to prove himself as a serious artist with a theatre adaptation on Broadway. But the complications and personal set-backs already start during rehearsals. A tough-as-nails theatre critic threatens to slate the all-important show and Riggan is dealing with his difficult relationship to his former drug-addicted daughter. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman is a milestone in film history. He managed to make the film look like it was shot in one take, giving the audience an extremely up close and personal experience.
